Tormore is a relatively new distillery, built in the 50s, with its impressive buildings located in Grantown-on-Spey. A key component in the Chivas portfolio, although they’ve bottled it previously as a single malt soon after becoming part of the Chivas Brothers family, it has never received significant backing from the whisky giant. This old expression from a gorgeous old bourbon barrel was filled in February 1990 and dumped in April of 2021. No chilltration or coloring.
TASTING NOTES
The nose of this mature whisky has barley, apple, prune, mango, honey, as well as floral and nutty touches. It’s mineral and fruity on the palate with grapefruit, rhubarb, barley, and wood. The finish is grassy and waxy with lingering fruit notes.
