The barrel came from a Heavenly distillery in Kentucky where it was used to age a Rye Whiskey. Sent to Panama and filled with 12 year old rum at 65% ABV.
ABV varies by barrel. Bottled uncut and unfiltered.
The Spice of Rye. This was the first Barrel Series (finishing rum in distinctive barrels) we ever did. I like Rye and, of course, like my Rum – so why not marry some of the flavors? The rye whiskey aged in these barrels was ‘barely legal’ (51% Rye) which plays well with our aged rum.
